Research and graduate students go hand in hand. Waterloo is committed to significantly increasing research-based graduate studies at the university in the next decade.
As well, the university recognizes the need for more graduate programs in professional fields to meet the needs of Canada’s changing economy.
By 2017, we plan to more than double our graduate student population. We aim to have 8,000 graduate students – 5,000 in research programs and 3,000 in professional and course-based master’s programs.
That’s a big, bold leap forward from the 4,000 graduate students now at Waterloo.
We offer more than 100 master's and doctoral degree programs.
We are pleased to announce the President's Graduate Scholarship for Tri-Council and OGS recipients valued at up to $10,000/year.
The University of Waterloo once again captured the highest reputation in Canada as "best overall" university in Maclean's annual university rankings. UW is No. 1 in three out of four national reputation measures: Best overall; Most Innovative; Leaders of Tomorrow.
