The annual Graduate Student Research
Conference provides an opportunity to:
- profile and promote graduate studies at Waterloo
- highlight the types of research currently taking place
- facilitate the sharing of that information
- encourage and foster more interdisciplinary research on campus

- Nora Doerr-MacEwen, Planning, research in water contamination by pharmaceuticals
earned her a 2004 Trudeau Foundation Doctoral Scholarship.
- Karim S. Karim, PhD '03, ECE, received one of four national NSERC doctoral
prizes awarded in 2004 for his work in diagnostic medical imaging.
- Since 1991, eight NSERC doctoral prizes have gone to Waterloo graduate
students.

Canadian Association for Graduate Studies (CAGS) -Canadian Graduate Student
Research Mobility Agreement (CGSRMA)
The Canadian Graduate Student Research Mobility Agreement allows graduate
students to complete or enhance their research by spending time at another
university within Canada. It is hoped that this experience will foster an
exchange of ideas, provide specialized training, research collaboration, and
interdisciplinarity. For more information on this agreement, please refer
