Convocation

Intention to Graduate/Program Completion Form

All students who intend to graduate at spring (June) or fall (October) convocation must submit an Intention to Graduate/Program Completion Form to their academic department.

Convocation Dates/Academic Deadlines

Convocation dates and deadlines for completion of degree requirements (including all coursework and/or submission of theses/master's project, etc. to the GSO) can be found in the Graduate Studies Calendar - Convocation and Intention to Graduate/Program Completion.

Intention to Graduate/Program Completion Forms must be submitted to the students academic department by August 31st for fall convocation and December 31st and April 30th for spring convocation.

Convocation Information

Convocation information is communicated by e-mail to all graduate students where an Intention to Graduate/Program Completion form has been received by the Graduate Studies Office.

General convocation information about ceremonies, special seating, hood purchases, tickets, etc., is available through the convocation website.

Name Changes

If the name you wish to have displayed on your diploma differs from the name currently appearing on your official academic record (as seen on QUEST), you must complete and submit a Change of Name form to the GSO.

Deposit of Thesis

Students preparing to deposit their thesis should refer to the Thesis Regulations.

Degree/Program Completion

Once all of your degree requirements have been met, you must complete and submit a Intention to Graduate/Program Completion Form to your academic department for approval. Your department will submit this form to the GSO.

Submission of the Intentin to Graduate/Program Completion form impacts tuition refunds and/or cancellation of your Finance account.

Diploma Mailing

If you are unable to attend convocation, your diploma will be mailed to the address you have indicated on Quest. Diploma mailing takes place approximately one week following convocation.

Outstanding Accounts with the University

Students must clear all outstanding accounts (parking fines, library fines, tuition balances, etc.) with the University prior to graduation. Diplomas and transcripts may be withheld for students with outstanding University accounts at the time of graduation. View your student account on Quest to view details of any withholds placed on your account.

Ordering Duplicate or Replacement Diplomas

You may obtain duplicate copies of your diploma, or replacement diplomas, if your original diploma was lost or destroyed. Complete the Request for Duplicate/Replacement Diploma Form and submit it to the Graduate Studies Office.
